Hi my name is Flora and I am a Norwegian Fjord Horse. I am brown dun in colour and have a dorsal stripe that runs from my forelock down my neck and back and into my tail. Norwegian Fjord Horses are known for their gentleness of temperament, willingness to work, stamina, and vigor. At 15.1 hands I am quite tall for my breed, but this is useful as it means I can carry heavier loads. Everyone also thinks I am very pretty!
I am lucky to have two sharers – Alison and Kim. Alison uses me for dressage – which helps train me to regain my natural movements and achieve harmony with my rider. I love it because dressage ponies always look very graceful!
My other sharer loves to take me out on long hacks across the farm and sometimes along the beach. While I do love to go fast, I am not always allowed to. I am still quite young and get scared by things on my rides out, but I am learning that actually not everything is as scary as I first thought.
I also get ridden, on the lead rein, by two boys – Callum and Flynn. We go for gentle walks and sometimes a trot. Because I am big, it makes them feel very secure. I love it when they visit because they always have lots of hugs and treats hidden in their pockets.
