What to wear
Here's an idea of what to wear to keep you safe & comfortable…..
The Group provide Riding Hats but if you wish to wear your own it must be checked by one of the Instructors and must be up to current standards – PAS 015, (BS) EN 1384 or ASTM F1163 (Troxel).
You must be comfortable when riding so tight trousers are not suitable, but jogging bottoms will do.
The kind of shoes or boots you wear is really important. They must have a small heel so that your foot does not slip through the stirrup and get stuck.
Although we ride inside it can still be jolly cold sometimes, so do wear something warm. When you wear a jacket or anorak it must be fastened so that it doesnt flap about when you are riding.
It is also a good idea to wear gloves so that you can hold the reins more easily. Mitts are not really suitable.
If you want you can buy a lovely cosy Sweatshirt with the Group name on it.
All of our rules at RDA are about safety – for Rider, Pony & Helper, so please remember to come to riding dressed properly.
Oh, and remember that at Muirfield Riding Therapy, we always wear a Smile!
